Total success of the VIII edition of F-AIR COLOMBIA 2017

Bogota, Colombia. July 14th. Swedish defense and security company SAAB presents its wide range of products and solutions for military defense and civil security, at the VIII edition of the international aeronautical fair F-AIR Colombia. Visitors can, among other things, sit in the Gripen cabin, take a flight on the Gripen Simulator and learn about air defense systems such as the RBS 70 NG as well as surveillance capabilities with the SAAB 2000 Erieye AEW & C.

The GRIPEN aircraft, an unique fighter with excellent operational performance, high technology solutions, profitability and industrial association in an intelligent combat system is on display at Booth 346.

Another of the products brought by SAAB for the new edition of F-AIR COLOMBIA 2017 is its early warning and airborne control system called Erieye, used in several medium-sized aircraft in Mexico and Brazil, to monitor airspace, borders and maritime lanes to ensure national security and assist in law enforcement missions such as smuggling, anti-piracy and protection of national resources.

Additionally, the RBS 70 NG short-range missile defense system is on display at the fair. This portable air defense system is designed for protection from 250 meters to 9 km for ground forces against airborne threats. The system is portable, easy to install and operate, and provides 24-hour coverage in all climates.

As for the accuracy of all objects visible on Earth in 3D, SAAB brings Vricon 3D Mapping. This system provides accurate ground coverage through high-precision 3D data and Earth elevation data, accessible through a single display platform and standards-based data formats. Vricon contains billions of square kilometers of commercial satellite imagery of the highest quality in the world.

The Contra-Improvised Explosive Devices Training System (C-IED) is also another attraction that SAAB will exhibit at F-AIR COLOMBIA 2017. The Tactical Commitment System is recognized for being fully instrumented and developed to meet the changing needs of training of current and future threats of IED and the broader aspects of counterinsurgency.

On July 14th, Bo Torrestedt, president of SAAB for Latin America and General(r) González, Director of CODALTEC, signed a confidentiality agreement that will strengthen the relationship and cooperation between both companies.
